Welcome to the Electoral Reform Society
2019 Council Election Portal

Nominations for elections to the Society’s Council are now open!

This website has been designed so that you, our members, can participate in the Society’s Council elections this year. Use the site to find out more and to nominate yourself as a candidate. From here you can:

  • View the election timetable
  • Download the Election Rules (Articles and Byelaws)
  • Find answers to some frequently asked questions
  • View the results (once the election closes).

What’s involved?

Further information about what’s involved in being a Council member is available in the FAQs section.

Please also take time to watch these videos - an introduction from our Chief Executive Darren Hughes - and some helpful information about the benefits of being on the Board from former Council member Clare Coatman.

PLEASE NOTE: To take part in the elections you must be a fully paid up member of the Society. You can join the Society or renew your membership here.

The Society is fully committed to diversity and we hope to attract a diverse set of candidates this year. We would therefore particularly welcome nominations from candidates that are currently underrepresented on our Council, such as women and people from a black and minority ethnic background.

If you want to check the status of your membership, please email Stuart Thomas at stuart.thomas@electoral-reform.org.uk.

In the coming weeks, you will be able to view all the information relevant to the elections, as well as:
  • View candidate statements of those standing for election
  • Cast your vote in the elections (ERS members only)
  • See the results of the elections

What happens next?

Nominations will close at 23:59 on Wednesday 21 August.
